The research portal “Art Platform Japan” has been further expanded and enhanced.
We encourage researchers and practitioners to make active use of this platform for studies on modern and contemporary art in Japan, as well as for research on museum collections throughout the country.

[Contemporary Japanese Art Exhibitions from 1945]
Two new datasets have been added, based on the following sources: Nihon no Bijutsu Tenrankai Kiroku: 1945-2005 [Art Exhibitions in Japan: 1945-2005] (edited by the National Art Center, Tokyo; supervised by Nakajima Masatoshi) and Art Festivals and Art Projects in Japan (edited by the Nonprofit Organization Art & Society Research Center).

In addition to expanding the number of artists and collectives included, we have augmented related reference resources, including bibliographic information and authority data.

[Research Guides]
We have added two new resources: “Resources for Art Translation” and “Copyright.”

[Japanese Galleries and Art Spaces]
We have been updated, with related bibliographic information newly added for 40 galleries and art spaces.
