The 2025 National Museum Collection Plus has begun at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design.
This is a themed exhibition that adds works from the National Museum of Art to the collections of art museums in each area, in order to enrich opportunities for viewing art in the region.

In conjunction with the upcoming special exhibition "Pop Art", works by Barnett Newman and Cy Twombly from the National Museum of Art, Osaka will be exhibited in a small collection that shows the diverse development of postwar American art. Furthermore, in another space within the collection exhibition room, works from the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design and the National Museum of Art, Osaka, featuring Picasso's second wife, Jacqueline, will be on display together.
The National Museum Collection Plus began last year at the Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts. This year, the number of venues has been increased to three. The Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design is the first in the series. It will then be followed by the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (August 2nd - October 7th, 2025) and the Kushiro Art Museum, Hokkaido (November 1st - December 14th, 2025).
