We are pleased to invite Ms. BARROW Yukiko, Furniture and Frame Conservator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Ms. NAKAE Kana, Curator at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and specialist in the study of modern Japanese frames, for the lecture “The History and Conservation of Picture Frames in Britain and Japan” at the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties on November 1, 2025.
They will present on the evolution of frame styles and production techniques, as well as approaches to conservation and restoration.
The program will be conducted in Japanese.
