Call for Participants: The 9th NCAR Study Tour (Germany)

The National Center for Art Research (NCAR) organizes international study tours for curators and researchers based in Japan to foster international networks with art professionals. Through these programs, NCAR aims to deepen mutual understanding and exchange, build lasting professional relationships, and create opportunities for future institutional collaborations and joint research between art museums and arts professionals in Japan and abroad.

The 9th NCAR Study Tour to Germany will take participants to Berlin, Münster, and Kassel, offering opportunities to explore Germany’s contemporary art scene through visits to art institutions, exhibitions, and major international art events, including documenta and Skulptur Projekte Münster. Through on-site research and dialogue with local curators and arts professionals, participants will gain insights into diverse curatorial approaches, institutional practices, and strategies for developing art projects. We hope that the knowledge, perspectives, and connections gained through this program will inform participants’ future projects and research, as well as foster new opportunities for international collaboration.

If you are interested in participating, please review the application guidelines and submit the application form by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20.
