Collection Dialogue
The "Collection Dialogue" initiative aims to create new discoveries by organizing exhibitions that combine works from the host museum's collection with works from the National Art Museums.By fostering a dialogue between the two collections, the program seeks to shed new light on the artworks and reveal previously unnoticed.
Each year, one of the following National Art Museums becomes the partner institution:The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; The National Crafts Museum; The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto; The National Museum of Western Art;and The National Museum of Art, Osaka.Museums across Japan are invited to submit exhibition proposals that incorporate works from their own collection together with works from the National Art Museums.
Selected proposals are realized as exhibitions hosted by the applicant museum. NCAR covers part of the associated costs, such as transportation expenses.
