Access Programs refer to initiatives designed so that everyone can enjoy museums. At The National Museum of Art, we introduce a variety of such efforts through videos and other media, showcasing how museums are made accessible and enjoyable for all.​

    The Learning Channel​

    We are compiling various workshops and initiatives from art museums, focused on the perspective of learning, and sharing them as videos.​

    Each National Museum of Art offers opportunities for people of all backgrounds to experience learning. Explore unique programs for young children, teens, and people with disabilities, as well as educational materials and tools.​

    Enjoying Museum Collections with Sign Language​

    This video series is a tool for learning about and enjoying artworks in Japanese Sign Language.

    Collections of The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

    The program aims to enable everyone—both those who use Japanese Sign Language as their first language and those who speak Japanese—to learn about artworks and take the first step toward visiting museums.

    All three videos were released in July 2025.

    Programs at the National Museum of Art

    This page introduces programs held at the National Museum of Art that are designed with accessibility in mind. These include lectures with sign language interpretation and Japanese captions, gallery programs for visitors who are blind or have low vision as well as sighted visitors to enjoy together, and programs designed to be accessible for people living with dementia. It also highlights initiatives that support families visiting with young children, such as those using strollers.
