Call for Participants: The 8th NCAR Study Tour (Hong Kong)

The National Center for Art Research (NCAR) organizes international study tours for curators and researchers based in Japan to foster international networks with art professionals. Through these programs, NCAR aims to deepen mutual understanding and exchange, build lasting professional relationships, and create opportunities for future institutional collaborations and joint research between art museums and arts professionals in Japan and abroad.

The 8th NCAR Study Tour to Hong Kong will offer participants opportunities to explore Hong Kong’s contemporary art scene through visits to art institutions, exhibitions, and international art events, including Art Basel Hong Kong. Participants will gain insights into diverse curatorial approaches, institutional practices, and the ways in which art institutions and professionals engage with local and international contexts. Through on-site research and dialogue with local curators and arts professionals, the program aims to broaden participants’ perspectives and foster professional connections across borders. We hope that the knowledge, perspectives, and relationships gained through this program will inform participants’ future projects and research, as well as create opportunities for international collaboration.

If you are interested in participating, please review the application guidelines and submit the application form by 17:00 on Friday, November 20th.
