To deepen understanding of Japanese contemporary art through the "100 Must-see Artworks in Japan: Contemporary Art Edition," we have published a conversation featuring Kataoka Mami (now Executive Advisor), who was Director of the National Center for Art Research when she took part in the selection process in the previous fiscal year, and Otani Shogo (Deputy Director of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo), who then headed the Collections Group. They discuss the background, specific methodology, and significance of the selection.
